Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto wants a mature FPS Zelda game not joking

^

Geist is rated mature.. Golden Eye was also made by Nintendo, and that's mature. But that are actually all I remember.

Edit: Perfect Dark, Eternal Darkness (published, but developed?)

Also, there aren't exactly many mature 3rd party games on Nintendo plats either, on N64 there were 5...

Edit 2: Disaster Day of Crisis is mature by Nintendo, that could be interesting.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Around the Network

1) As has been stated a few times, Metroid Prime is basically an FPS Zelda.

2) Link to actual interview: http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/crossbow/vol1_page1.jsp

3) No need to make Yet Another FPS, there's enough of those on the market.

Anyone remembers when Platformers were the main genre of games? Like right after Super Mario Bros?

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

why use Zelda to just shoot around arrows when you have another guy spezialized at that.

Walkign eggplant, we arer looking at you.

He always turned into a effing eggplant. still gives me nightmares.

Those eggplant wizards haunted us all, Faxanadu...

But yeah, give the bow to Pit and leave Link with his flimsy sword.

Miyamoto has yet to make a mature game...and he has yet to make a FPS game. Man wants a challenge... He probably played Halo and was completely blown away wishing he could do something that amazing :)

''I could make Halo. It's not that I couldn't design that game. It's just that I choose not to. One thing about my game design is that I never try to look for what people want and then try to make that game design. I always try to create new experiences that are fun to play.''

Miyamoto said that, last year. Funny you brought that up.

''I know what you're saying...but I was more thinking of a game rated M than the targeted audience of a game

I want a Zelda game where he slaughters most of the Nintendodogs and swears like a sailor. Having a chainsaw will help...also a good multiplayer deathmatch is key :)''

Link can't swear like a sailor, not because he's kiddy, but because he's a fucking MUTE ;)

And please, don't give me anymore of those stupid multiplayer-centric online games like Call of Duty 4. Those games spit on the tradition that you should be able to enjoy a game no matter what. Only if you're good at FPS'ing and hate singleplayer games you can enjoy games like that.

Haha...wow he actually said that... I'm not saying he can't do something like Halo but it won't be as easy for him as he thinks...

Also, i didn't mean for Link to swear...but one of his 3 buddies that go with him killing the alines who have taken over Hyrule.

@Oyvoyvoyv

Nintendo published M rated games you listed but Miyamoto had nothing to do with them.

@Baddman

Apparently the game was done by n-Space, Inc. who talked to Myamoto about "object possession" mechanic

yeah it was something like that i heard   like he wanting them to focus more on the object possession mechanic or something

God, I will go on an outrage if they turn Zelda into FPS. It seems like Miyamoto had some really horrible ideas there...
