If you take away rereleases and bundling, theres probably a pretty good chance that Pokemon Red/Blue/Green is the best selling game ever., right?

Possibly. But wasn't pokemon bundled for a spell as well? Or were those just retailer bundles?

I don't recall it being bundled.  Retailer bundles are more likely.  Super Mario Bros was bundled how much?  And Tetris only sold more with rereleases.  I'm just curious because it's quite possible my favorite game of all time.  :)

@ Rock_On,  if you don't put Wii Sports, you can't put Super Mario Bros. either, for same reason.  Just in case you didn't know.  Pokemon doesn't need bundle/rerelease help!  :D

Ah, ok. Then I was just remembering retailer bundles........it was in the same flyer almost every week at that time. Gameboy color + Pokemon for $123 (or maybe $150) Canadian. It's also one of my favourite games (but Super Mario RPG is my favourite game of all time:))

Edit: post #666........that can't be good......

GT4 sales need to be updated. Polyphony's website says LTD shipments are 10 million.

The numbers I saw on their site add up to 9.92M. Added to the list.

Thanks for catching that. Hopefully different people can find data like that to help make the list more complete.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

I don't think WiiSports should be on there but just a small correction - Gran Turismo 2 was on PS1 not PS2.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

Why shouldn't Wiisports be included? A lot of those games on the list were bundled, and since we are combining remakes to the numbers, I don't see any reason to not add bundled games.

One more thing: what to do with expansion packs for The Sims or World of Warcraft? I don't think we should count them to the total sales, because they are only bought by people who already have the game. There are close to no people who buy a game because of a new expansion.

Some other things: why aren't we counting Pokémon Yellow to the sales of Red/Blue/Green? The changes were only minor, and nothing substantial was added to the gameplay.
And what about the other incarnations of Tetris? How do we tell if a version is a remake of the original or an entirely new Tetris?

Nice writing mate! COD4 has also NDS sales, right??

I'm pretty sure that's essentially just a different game.

Please, no bundle arguments. It's valid from one point of view to include them, and valid from another to exclude them. Including them is at least more complete, so that's what I'm going to stick with.
