The average price for the 40GB in the UK is £300 , I know amazon UK sell the PS3 for £290 but I was hoping for something in the £200-£230 region.

I don't think Amazon.com allows shipping to the Uk and i'm out of ideas for importing.I also don't mind buying a second hand PS3 as long as it's in good condition.

If I don't buy a PS3 then I'll have to get an XBOX 360 but then i'll have to buy a Wi-Fi adapter , pay for live and overly expensive hard drives, I'm a student so I haven't got alot of expendable income.

Don't import a PS3, as it will not allow you to play your PS2 games, DVDs or blu-rays. Play.com had it listed for £230, but that was merely a mistake. GAME and Amazon both offer decent bundles, and you could sell some of the games that you are given. However, you will not find it for below £300 unless you get a second hand one, and the best place for that of course is eBay

I thought blu-ray's were region free , I couldn't care less about BC and DVD though.

If I can't watch Blu-Ray films I honestly can't say i'd be too bothered , I just want to be able to play games on the PS3.

you can use movietyme.com to import blu-ray movies from USA..

its in fact cheaper as well..

On the real, if you're really looking to buy it cheap then you should probably buy an after market copy. Maybe your local videogame store has some.

yes I got R & C through them...came in 4 days at a price of £31.99

basically 8 pounds cheap and delivered quickly..

 I got Uncharted and BP for £32 each, but it did take about 1 week to come, and I felt really ripped off, because on the parcel it said $4 postage, yet I was charged $14!
