Kids are always going to find a way to play M rated games, either at a friend's or relative's house, or just rent it: A few stores rent R movies to minors, so I don't see why they would start with M rated games.
I'm not angry over the legislation, I am more angry over these parents always blaming things that they think are responsible for their kids being delinquents, whether it is music, video games, movies, TV shows; anything that allows them to point their finger.
You tend to even hear stories of parents complaining as to why a movie was rated R and not NC-17 because the movie they went to see with their kid was highly inappropriate, or even arguments over video games that are made over peculiar circumstances.
Anyone remember that grandmother who was angry over that Hot Coffee mod in San Andreas? Everything else that a player can do in GTA was all fine and peachy, but a little "sexy time"thrown in, and only then is it inappropriate for minors.
Now, I'm not arguing that GTA should be played by everyone, but parents have different standards as to what is and what isn't appropriate. We used to have K-A, Kids to Adults, which was changed to E, Everyone. That wasn't good enough for a few parents, so the ESRB made E10+. There is still one rating that could be changed, T, Teen, and I still wouldn't be surprised if there will parents up in arms.
With this legislation passed, I just hope that now when a parent gets angry over what content the game has, I wish that a politician in the future will say something along the lines of "Listen dumbass, the rating is there, the description is on the back, and you bought the game....Why you crying?!"
