Forums - Website Topics - WE WANT BALANCE!! Mods actions are either non existent or out of control...

Once again, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the mods for their hard work. I feel like on average, we do not voice our appreciation for the work you guys do. However, I for one greatly do appreciate it, even when I may not understand some of your decisions to not ban/ban someone, I know that at the very least you are keeping this forum somewhat honest. I also know that for the most part, the mods actually do keep their biases out of their modding.

SSJ, for example: when you were made mod, I was kind of worried. However, since then I have been nothing but impressed with your conduct as a mod. This goes for all the mods, however; thank you for your hard work, and keep making this site one of the better forums I've been to.

Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

ioi alluded to mod forums and that bans are somewhat a group decision. I was wondering if a mod could let us know what type of discussion happens when a ban is given out. I love to know a little about what goes on behind the scenes.

i propose an experiment: change all the mods for one day. give rubang, his ghost, his arch nemesis, his weird finnish pal and the australarian fzero fetischist the mod powers for that day. see what happens.

chaos will be let loose. pandoras box opened, hyrules moon descending, vaat behaving like a man and not a girl, all at once.

then cut and curtain close.

after that, no one will complain no more.

If a mod wants to have fun in the site that's alright. Start your own threads, comment on gaming news and editorials, post on other mods' threads, comment on the "chartz section", review games, whatever.  But stay away from the "hot topics" is that so much to ask? Mods posting in many of those threads is frequently uncalled for and they often take the side of a particular fanbase. That's an undeniable fact. That's not what you expect from a mod.

So we should limit their ability to enjoy the site because they are willing to dedicate time to making the forums a better place. That is absolutely retarded. It would just lead to mods not reading threads because there is little point in it. I certainly wouldn't trudge through the myriad threads that boil down to "lulz, my game is bettar then urs," without the ability to actually actively engage those members who post more thought provoking ideas.

@soriku yeah i know he has been over thirty times and i agree you can stand up for yourself. My point was that when i was young and hot headed i too would have been banned quite a few times. I still think a perma ban for a young guy is harsh.

Sp we should allow him to harm the community because he is young? Sorry, I can't see the logic. If he is being overly disruptive then he should not be allowed on the site. Those are the rules everyone has to play by.

Mod A: User 14 is a douche.

Mod B: I agree.

Mod C: Hey, look guys, I found a picture of a monkey f***ing a greased football!

Mod B: Heh.

Mod A: Well, should I ban him?

Mod C: MJOLNIR! Thor! Modi! Thrudr! Magni!

Mod A: Shit, he thinks he's Thor again.

Mod B: I'll just ban him.

Mod A: Five days.

Mod C: Odin...?

Actually, in my case at least, it would lead to me just making another account and using that to post so absolutely nothing would change (well, I guess we wouldn't have the cop affect anymore which is a bad thing).

LOLZ! Thanks for the insight Rocketpig!

...Shit, he thinks he's Thor again...

Yup, that's about how it goes except Thursdays in which we do the same thing but without pants.

 This would work.

The reason I would be the best mod ever:

I wouldn't ban anybody ever.  I'd simply use my Penance Stare through the internet and show them the pain and suffering their trolling has caused, and they'd just... log out.
