yeah poor 360 LOL.  Just pointing out the obvious for those worried about the 360.  Seriously are any 360 owners besides dmiester worried about the future of their 360?  Hey I can understand the overseas folks but in America we will have very strong developer support for a very long time.  So who seriosly finds it hard to have a good night sleep because MS hasn't drop the price of the 360 in America though is millions ahead?

I don't know. It's not like PSP vs 360 in japan where the PSP started outselling the DS partially because DS just hit a wall from like 1 in every 5 people owning one.

Unless 12 million is nearing a saturation point. Which i believe is what people are worrying about. Well not a saturation point... but early slowing down point.

Not saying they are right.  But I can see why people would think that way.

Concidering that the 360 has been on the market a year longer and had at least double the number of amazing games then the PS3 and always cost almost a hundred dollars less and is by far the easiest console to program for and it only has barely more then double the PS3's install base in America... Im just saying its sales arent strong enough to go mocking people that question them.

Also concidering that the PS3 has in one year sold 12.18 million consoles world wide, and the Xbox has in TWO years sold 18.58 million... I mean, if you just doube the PS3 numbers to add a year you are looking at 24 million vs 18.5 million. Its not pretty.

But the 360s installed base is big enough now that it should always get games, so everyone should be rejoicing, mine is about to RROD, but I still play Rock Band and Call of Duty on the thing all the time.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Doesn't Npd have the 360 somewhere in the 9 millions and the ps3 is about the same as vgchartz #'s? I dont remember where i saw that but im pretty sure I did. Well anyways if thats, using both NPD and VGchartz i put the 360 at 10.5 million vs. 4.5 million in the US. Anyways, the 360 is fine in europe and america. The ps3 is fine in europe and america. If and when the ps3 gets a price cut i think the sales gap will continue to widen, even if the 360 follows suit.

Well, I think the attach rate is what will help the 360 out. If games continue to sell well, it will help the 360 with support...now if attach rate dwindles along with the recession in the USA...

The reason fools are worried about 360 dieing is due to the fact PS3 has gone from selling 20k per week in NA to 90k and till week GTA4 booted it to 150k for the week !

While 360 has had a much smaller increase -- therefore people think PS3 will increase like that again next year ( not going to happen ... PS3 will only increase 15 - 25% ... ) ... in the end both consoles will last the entire gen and due to the cost of HD games and the fact Wii is dominating most HD games will be multiplatform ...

I don't think hardware makes any difference at this point. 3rd parties know that their software sells great on 360 so they will keep making sure they deliver on the 360 platform.

2.3 M for GTA on 360 1.3 M on PS3. I thought the gap would only by 20% tops. This has to be good news for Microsoft... With GT5 Prologue, and knowing MGS4 is about to release for Microsoft to outsell GTA IV by that margin is nothing but good news.

If you're gonna look at it percentage of people who own a PS3 and bought GTA4 is higher than the percentage of those who own a 360 and bought GTA4. Wonder what happened to the 9 mil other people.
