MGS3 started with less than 200k on a massive user base of PS2's.

and VGchartz doesn't have the first week for MGS2.

Either way it will definitely sell more than 200k first week because it's getting a re-fresh on this console, the game is far to hardcore though.

Could be, its an exclusive title, many PS2 owners who don't have PS3 yet are dying to have this title, so therefore hardware sales, for sure! I hope so, PS3 could use a large boost for once.

How can anyone think MGS even has a chance of selling more than GTA?
GTA4 will sell A LOT more week 1, week 2, etc. all the way until Christmas. Bundle or no bundle, the hype for GTA IV will be the biggest you'll see this gen.

I know for a fact that 90% of the people I know with a PS3 or planning to buy a PS3, want it because of MGS4. Most of them not even for GTAIV.
