What this tells me is there is a maximum potential for a game like Metal Gear Solid 4 which falls far short of a lot of people's predictions.

Only the first Splinter Cell sold over a few million, and it was still a million less than MGS 1 and MGS 2. Both of those games sold 6 million. That's higher than your estimated plateau. Anyway, the games are completely different experiences. The audience for Splinter Cell is far lower than MGS. The past alone doesn't always provide the best guess of the future. Things change.

The bundle in US and Japan will definitely be sold out prior to release. The same may be true for Europe but not certain due to the awfulness of the bundle....
Among existing PS3 owners I have to say that it will definitely have similar interest to GTA4, but it may have a chance of outselling it 1st week but not lifetime...

Also comparing prior MGSs to this you should at least compare it to MGS1/2 since MGS3 was definitely the least interesting in terms of story (its a prequesl and you don't even get to play Snake).

I'm predicting 2m+ 1st week and around 400k h/w.... Definitely the best non launch, non holiday week for the PS3...

You seriously believe in Japan they will sell 100k bundles on the week this game releases? You do follow weekly PS3 sales in Japan recently?
