Ha.. Nice Goin!!! It's up!! MK Wii is selling hot!!!

Now I get the picture if GTA4 was exclusive to 1 console. Big boost considering two consoles are sharing it.

GTA IV First week Attach rates based on total hardware numbers in NA
GTA IV PS3: (1,386,032/4,880,000) = 28.40%
GTA IV 360: (2,317,774/11,720,000) = 19.78%

Good for PS3 it has a higher attach rate.
Although I think R* would rather get the 1 million * 60$ = 60 million dollars that the xbox360 sold more than the 9% in attach rate, but who knows, maybe they will look and say the attach rate is good.
Then again, maybe the attach rate can give a good estimate on how many will buy it in Europe

Very astonishing week..
All the consoles sold more than last week.
The software is also amazing..Also the older titles get really boosted by hardware.
Impressive GTAIV and MKWii

Market is very strong... lots of revenue this week even with recession... amazing.

For NA region:

1.5:1 in favour of 360 regarding GTA IV sales for first week.
2:1 in favour of the PS3 hardware sales attachment with GTA IV sales for first week.

First week: GTA IV attachment rate with console PS3 sales =10%

First week: GTA IV attachment rate with console 360 sales = 5%

Looks like the 360 will sell more copies week one. Not surprised.

Looks like the ps3 will sell more consoles. Not surprised.

Can someone explain to me what attach rate for consoles actually means from a developer point of view?

Quite alot on the internet nowadays you tend to hear people throwing the attach rate phrase around like wildfire. Surely a developer would take sales over attach rate anyday of the week??

So what is the point in talking about the attach rate?

Endure. In enduring, grow strong.

Since the basis of this site is sales data and statistics, you shouldn't be surprised that people talk about attach rates. Sure, some people use them to make feeble attempts at saving face for their console of choice, but it's an intersting stat regardless.
