That 17 is greater than 22?

 I very much doubt there were shortages.  The weekly increase was less than the total sales from last week, and I don't think that most stores keep less than an extra week's supply on hand when they can (although I don't have retail experience in this area, so if anyone wants to shed light [for example, Bodhesatva if it would be okay with your higher-ups], that would be great).  I would expect at least 2 weeks estimated sales on hand, as that would likely allow them to get more from their distributor before they ran out for good.

 Twestern gave you the responce you deserved but to give two damn good reasons:

School - I use my laptop between classes so I don't waste gas to drive home and then come back.  I usually browse and post on VGC.

Work - Many of our members browse and post from work.

It only takes about 10-20minutes to post for the day and then most go play their games, by doing this many people have a group of gaming friends to play online games with, and theystay updated on the latest gaming news, and newest tidbits of info.

It doesn't have to consume your life =P

@zenfoldor: it was expected by any one who doesnt dream up wild fantasies of the wii being defeated. any one with a grasp of what nintendo is doing would have expected it. remember that post counts dont make you an expert on video games.

Mario Kart Wii was never supposed to sell more, but coupled with Wii Fit, and the trailing sales of Brawl, it was meant to help the Wii stay at least afloat, which it obviously did and then some.

 nope, I don't intent what I said to be taken the wrong way. I was not an cheap shot at nintendo at all, I just didn't see it as an utter defeat on the part of HD console at all.

 1.. I believe DD was the best selling game on GC? I could be wrong there.

2.. we have already established that Wii's owners don't care about game scores.

3.. I don't mean "flood" the market in term of "dumping", but comparing with the 700K it sold last monthing, shipping and selling more than half of that in 1 week is much more than what they normally ship.

4.. Well, I think the past week prove that there are warehouse full of Wii somewhere, there's no way that Nintendo just magically increased the production all the sudden.

To answer another's question. PS3's install base in NA. close to 5 million. Nintendo Wii's install base in NA. close to12 million. to have a GTAIV on PS3 outselling MKWii is a HUGE win for Sony as well as for GTAIV.
