Oh that's right, I forgot there was that interview a long time ago when the Wii was still new where someone said that 1:1 controls were impossible and I'm sure KoW is pushing 1:1 so hard because it won't happen.  If it can never happen he always has an excuse to be never be satisfied.  If he's never satisfied he always has room to complain.

This topic has turned a little ridiculous. For the longest time i have heard on this forum people talking up the power of GTA and all that, and how it will push hardware sales, but the truth is, though it has the Wii has still outsold both consoles combined, and rather than saying "nintendo have done a fantastic job especially during the biggest game in this industry" the HD enthusiasts have turned this into a a MK vs GTA thing, the funny thing is though MK did not sell as much as gta its still sold a phenomenal amount.
This really is pathetic, like MK sails have ever been on the Lvls of the HALO's the SSBB's or the GTA's.

Mario Kart does have similar sales potential to Halo and Super Smash Bros. (not in the same league as Grand Theft Auto though) but it also has a very different growth curve ... Much like Mario Party 8 (which has sold over 5 Million copies) Mario Kart will sell at a steady rate and its userbase will just continue to grow; unlike Mario Party 8 it is unlikely that we will see another Mario Kart this generation so there is nothing that will stop people from buying Mario Kart.

 Exactly!!! It's not like Mario Kart has ever had first week sales potential equal to the franchises u mentioned.

I think someone also mentioned the first week sales for MKWii surpassed previous installments in the franchise up against the juggernaught that is GTA! That is simply amazing!!!! Point Blank.

And as I mentioned before, MKWii will more than likely be more profitable than GTAIV.

Well if GTA4 was going to make a dent in Wii sales it likely wouldn't be something that would be readily apparent as it would a quicker then thought meeting of demand following by a slow and steady dropoff to a lower level.

The graphs were lies, I was expecting negative sales by this point! VGcharts members numbers are lies.

QFT - it's supposed to be software that moves a console right...

Let's take a look at terminologies here:

GTA is credited for having a huge casual gamer group on the PS2.
Wii is credited for having a huge casual gamer group and to have tapped into the PS2 market.
GTAIV is not on the Wii but it's sales didn't even make the Wii nor it's software flinch. By this point I'm thinking a game like Boom Blox isn't affected at all by the other consoles and may be hurt more by MKWii.

But wait! I thought they both garnered to the casual crowd... and look out! the sales numbers on PS3 would lead any passerby to believe PS3 had tapped into the PS2 GTA market already, but wait! GTA series has always been top heavy the first 4 weeks usually signal it's curve, HEY! wasn't MKWii supposed to compete with GTAIV? But neither affected other..
(My inspiration for that last paragraph was Navi.) =)

I'll try not to taper off on this XD, what do you think the 360 did XD, that's right it split the load, mmm amazing isn't it, Microsoft’s intent isn't as mundane you'd be led to believe, their not trying to get control, they just don't want Sony to get control XD... nope! They want money but due to lack of foresight Nintendo claimed the market, heck it took 10 years for most Sega zealots to give up their notions of Sega supremacy & Sonic ftw... sure the latest Sonic game sped the decay of Sega's brand up but my point is where in all this history do Casuals come in.

Let's look at hobbies, some people like building billing boats, some do it at a steady pace some are experts and do it fast - what’s the difference? One is just better at it than the other, clearly if you enjoy something your going to get good at it and if your good at it your going to do it more often. So what exactly is a casual gamer - what is a core gamer? What's the difference after you answer the first question?

why is it for the past two to three weeks all we heard from sony and microosoft fanboys was that GTA4 was gonna sell millions of consoles and stop the wii from selling anymore? now after it was proven to be the opposite all the sony and microsoft fanboys are now blaming shipments and everything else for their beloved consoles not selling as much as they thought much less in my opinion helping the wii sell even more. i mean cmon if halo barely phased the wii why on earth would u think a multiplatform game was gonna do?

wait till wiifit comes out cause i never realized myself how this thing was gonna sell till my wife saw it and hinted on us getting it. so now i think we are talkin millions of consoles and units sold of wii and for wii. i used to be a huge ninty fanboy till the GCN failed like it did and became a pc gamer instead. which makes more sense then buying a console with inferior technology for the same games.
