Mario Kart I saw coming, but what is this new hardware business?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Could be the DVD enabled Wii that Nintendo talked about last year considering to release in Japan. Or maybe something to do with external storage?

I hope they will use the USB port for something. I hate it when consoles have ports that are never actually used. Seems such a waste.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

The DVD-Video update should still be possible in the form of a software download. $5 for the DVD Forum license. Nintendo could also add a YouTube channel. Just the video selection, no website. That's what the Apple TV received yesterday. They could even let 3rd parties sell channels based on Web Services from Google, Yahoo et al if there are no capable programmers for this inside Nintendo. The Wii channels could be a lot better.

I kind of dread the revealing of the new Mario Kart. The last 3 titles (on N64, GC, DS) have been too similar. I wish they could get a fresh look for this game, besides new controller mechanics.

Nintendo is so innovative, you could list 100 possibilities for the hardware, and it would still be something else.

YEAH, MARIO KART FOR WII!!! Now if only they announce new Zelda and Vision Red too, those last week pre E3 rumours will become reality.

Thansk for the post, keep em posting!, and as soon as anyone gets info on the new hardware.....post it! thanks in advance-D

Holy crap. Its gonna be another multi hour lines at E3. Not quite as long since there will be less people. But still longer than anything in Sony's or MS's booths.

The crazy things about those rumors that were posted last week, is that they make a lot of sense. If anyone here has heard last weeks IGN podcast, Matt talked about a secret Nintendo project that appealed to the hardcore. That project could perfectly be Vision Red. Mario Kart is a no-brainer, it is normally released about 2 years after launch. I think we should expect a new Kid Icarus game obviously, his inclusion in smash would be an excellent advertisement. That hardware could be a hard-drive to put in the USB ports?
