Ok, so I know a lot of people were supposedly going to buy a PS3 when GTAIV came out.  That's totally understandable because until now it was generally regarded as a PS only game.  However, 2 of my friends have now told me that they bought Xbox 360s to play this game!!  (Ok, one of them was my brother who got a lot of persuading from me.)

GTAIV is generally being reported world wide as selling more copies on 360 and some have even said there has been a huge surge in hardware as well.  So I have to wonder if this was the game that pushed people over the edge to buy a 360 as well.  

Anyone get it for the Wii?  (hee hee, just kidding.)

Woolworths in the UK are giving GTA4 away with any 360 console, so I expect that will sell quite well.

No. I was going to buy a 360 for Operation Darkness... but the camera control is horrible and confusing... also SRPGs that use guns NEED the ability to use the rest of your movement points after you fire.

yip, 4 friends of mine bought a x360 for gtaIV. but, the gtaIV special offers were to good over here in germany.

Exmpl. couple of weeks ago the 360arcade was bout 280€. from the 29th april till 3rd may

x360 arcade system (200€ since beginn april)

+3month xboxlive Gold (20€)

+GTAIV (70€)

+FORZA and Viva Pinata(???€)

all for 200€  quit. With Premium System 269€ and with Elite 349€

a GFX-Card for Pc to play it in equal quality is bout 250-350€ without GTAIV, PS3 Without GTAIV is 400€ (40gig)

its just stupid to buy it on another console or for PC ( all 4 of my friends were suposed to buy it for PS3 or for PC) 

There ad campaign is ridiculous. I have seen about 9 GTA 4 ads in Canada during several big television events (Stanley Cup playoffs, NBA playoffs etc.) I anticipate lots of people will "Jump In" as the 360 bundles being offered are quite the value.

 what 360 bundle are you talking about? I don't seem to remember that, nor have seen those? What store is offer this "360 Premium, GTA 4, Halo 3 etc all for like 350~ Canadian."

I did that, bought an elite w/ a play&charge kit and GTA4 for the price of the console alone. A friend of mine did that with the halo3 special edition xbox

I think the 360 is doing better then what VGC is reporting.

Either MS PR is doing FINALLY doing something, but a lot of positive news for the console and sales, a lot more then MS has had since the start of 2008.

I expect NPD numbers for April to favor 360 again by 10k (give or take 2k), and 360 May numbers to beat the PS3 by 20k (give or take 4k).
