Ive been searching for issues with the XBOX360 GTA IV version and have found no hard evidence.

Is it only the PS3 that is affected? or does the xbox360 have issues also.

I want to know before picking up my copy on the xbox

The PS3 issue seems to be easily fixed by disconnecting PSN, for single player that is of course. http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2837564

The topic is also filled with numerous 360 owners having issues. Both consoles seem to have issues with the game, just make a decision if you want the game while keeping a freeze or two in the back of your mind. A fix will come soon enough.

I had no problems on my launch PS3 so far with this game. Lets hope it stays like that.

I'm having NO problems whatsoever with GTA4 on my PS3. It's still a rather new console (about 3-4 months).

However, i just can't understand why this game is getting 10's all across the board. It's got an average of 99.6 on Gamerankings! That's utter nonsence... The game causes some errors to occur on some systems, and the game is not THAT good, in the way that it should deserve a 10!... But whatever, i think it's mostly hype that is driving these insane scores, just like with EDGE giving Halo 3 a 10! That was rediculous too!... GTA4 is still great though! Just not 'worthy' of a 10!

well 360 owners are also having problems, you can find thier rants on youtube.

on mine, the ps3 version after the cartoon load screens at beginning, when the actual game starts loading it just froze there and just said loading.

an easy fix for me was, purging the browser cashe then it worked fine.

Out of 35 hours of play, my game froze only once and i had to restart my 360. That's it.

Running good here on my 360.

I've been trouble free so far. Probably put about 20 hours total into the game. No freezes at all. I have 1-2 friends with PS3's and neither of them are having problems either. The only complaint I've heard from them is the fact the PS3 color palette seems a little darker so they had to turn up the in game brightness.

I think there may be some small problems on both platforms but when you sell so many millions of games in a week you're bound to hear problems from a vocal minority.
