Level 2!
Okay, if you haven't yet posted in the "Your top 5 Playstation 1 games", I would appreciate it if you did. It's fun to reminisce.
Anyways, I know this might be even harder considering the amount of awesome games, but please list AT LEAST your top 5 games for arguably the best system ever, the Playstation 2. If you could do ten, even better. And if you could give a brief reason why, that would be great.
P.S. I know this is hard, but it'll be interesting to see what people pick. As for me (in no particular order):
- Kingdom Hearts - Who the hell thought a Disney/FF combo could work? Massive imagination points here. Great Story, some of the most fun I've had with a game ever......up there with Pokemon Red Version. :)
- Kingdom Hearts 2 - Reason........look up^ :)
- Final Fantasy X - One of the greatest ones imo. Some don't like the protagonist, but I just thought the story was really good. It's hard to justify FF games.....people's opinions are amazingly polarized.......
- Okami - You want a reason? Play it, and it will kick you in the ass with its greatness, theres my reason. But seriously, some of the most amazing visuals I've ever seen, I was really taken aback by it's beauty and style. The ONLY remotely bad thing I could think of was that it was kind of easy.......that's it.
- Shadow of the Colossus - Wow........I never knew such an epic game could do so much with so little. A d00d, a horse, a girl, and a big, giant world, and the Colossi. It doesn't sound that amazing..........I think the greatness of this game is almost beyond words......it HAS TO BE EXPERIENCED.
- Socom II - It was so much fun controlling your 4 man team. The amount of commands that can be....uh, commanded..... were so cool. The amount of strategy that can be formulated was tremendous....especially online.......good online existed before Xbox *wink*.
- Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War - You know, the Ace Combat is pretty underrated in my opinion. They have pretty cool stories, actually quite touching at times, very poetic. The cutscenes are beautiful, much better than you'd expect. And then, you have the flying. It is strategic, but it doesn't get as stale as an actual flight simulator. Having dogfights in the sky with 200+ other planes all in a killing mood on top of the ground forces and ground to air missiles.........pure chaos.......so good.
- God of War - Didn't everyone like this? lol. Kratos was just a great protagonist, he pwns f*cking Gods! Great visuals, great story, the atmosphere was pretty great. And although I don't consider it a clone, it probably helped spawn one of my favorite current gen experiences......Heavenly Sword.
- Onimusha - When I played this the first time I just remember thinking how cool the story was. It just played so well, and the absorbing of the souls was such a cool touch. The battles and the way everyting looked.......A+.
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Come on it's Snake! He's pwns everyone! I think he's in some new project coming up soon....................maybe June 12th...............LOL.
