Weird, I had my 60 gig replaced back in October due to a bad BD-optical drive (everything is fine with that now) but after getting to the second safehouse in GTA4, i get an infinite loading screen when i restart the game. I've deleted all my saves, deleted the 3 gig install, and still the same infinite load screen. I've tested other games and movies, and they work fine, so it must be something in the 60 gig hardware, the GTA4 disc, or a combination thereof.

Rockstar spends $100 million on this game and this crap happens. I'm not happy one bit.

I guess third time was the charm for reinstalling the game data. I read it might actually just be the 60 gig harddrive itself, so some people are switching in bigger ones.

I hope this doesn't happen to my friend because he just went out and bought a 40 gig ps3 for this game.

Seems like I'm spamming, but I'm so happy its working again. Glad I was smart enough to back up my save and profile, so I'm back were I was at.

Sorry to hear that, man. I got a 60gb and its running perfectly with gta4. Call and see if you can get that replaced. I wonder if this will be a huge problem. It probably won't cause I think it would have already been brought up a few thousand times by now.

Worst looking next gen game? not even close. Best looking next gen game? nope, I don't think anyone claims that. Most epically huge next gen game that simulates a whole world running at the same time with no loads? yes. Sure DMC4 looks good but it didn't even impress me that much because of all the games that look much better on both systems. On the other hand, every once in a while I get somewhere in GTA and it completely blows me away. First time seeing the city- wow. First time in Times Square- holy crap. First time on a skyscraper- unbelievable I haven't taken the chopper yet..

 I don't think its so clear, I mean the 60GB and 20GB have basically the same hardware, without the emotion engine, I think it's software, because if it wasnt then Rockstar wouldnt tell you to try to reinstall the game. (Installing stuff deals with software not hardware)

Take out the harddrive and put a new one in.

I have a launch PS3 60GB from launch and it works perfectly with GTA4. What may be the problem is faulty game save information. Delete all game save folders and the install data for GTA4... Then turn off the autosave feature in GTA4 and it should work.

Give that a shot before sending in your PS3. I'm sure a future patch will fix that issue.
