Does anyone besides me believe that the game journalists should start to refer to this gen as current instead of next. I mean this November will be the 2nd anniv, Wii, PS3 and 3rd anniv 360 for pete's sake! Thoughts?

Oh, rest assured, they'll keep using the buzzword until it no longer elicits a response of any sort. Just like they did with the PS2, GC, and XBOX. How long did it take them to stop calling those systems "next gen"? 'Til 2004, at least?
If you want them to stop using the buzzword, stop paying attention to when they use it.
Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

They'll stop calling it next-gen when the next gen is announced. That's how it works, sadly.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
Not to sound like an asshole, but if the Wii was more like the PS3 and 360 in terms of hardware, I think it would be "this gen" xD. But so many associate the term with hardware and not actual time frame :/
From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.
Agreed, it's annoying, but I have the perfect counter. I'll start calling this gen for last gen.
