@arcturus
Ok. Thanks for clearing that up.
*Sigh*
The PS3 version has the better graphics. End of. Several review sites have said so.
The PS3 also has less framerate hitches.
The PS3 version IS better. End of.
MGS4!
I haven't played it myself, but it's probably fair to say the differences between the two versions are so small that even the player's preference towards one controller or the other is a bigger factor.

My buddy just got a sweet Toshbia 52" LCD. They don't sell this particular model at Best Buy, becuase it's kind of a botique TV (too high end for best buy). He also recently got a PS3 to compliment his 360 -- he's on his third, by the way. Before I bought my 360, I talked to him for a while about which system he'd recommend, and he said that games generally just played better on the 360. Framerates were often better (he claimed this was the case with CoD4 -- he also pointed out that Ratchet & Clank had low framerate in some areas), and colors almost always looked better for cross platform games. Plus, there weren't enough good exclusives for the PS3. It's funny because I was leaning toward the PS3, and I hate the 360 reliability problems which are absolutely still an issue with the Falcon models (many more people with Falcon models reported failures over the weekend in the SA forums), but I got a 360 anyway.

CoD4 runs flawlessly and so does Ratchet. But hey, enjoy your 360.
highwaystar101, u cant compare games that are played on different TV's !!!!!
no TV gives u the same picture
come on man, at least try them on the same tv, and conclude, and may the best version win!
Chears
I've played both, and I say the PS3.
The graphics have more effects, there's a lovely motion blur when the camera swings back.
Also there seems to be more traffic and I'd say the lighting is better too.
(played 8 hours on both)
Please let's no go down this route - its maddness.
The general opinion of the gaming reviewers is that the PS3 looks a little better. That's not going to change.
At home everyone has different TVs, lighting conditions in their rooms, etc. A personal opinion on this is near enough useless I'm afraid (sorry if that sounds harsh).
Also its certain that everytime someone posts '360 graphics are slightly better' there's going to be a matching 'no PS3 graphics are better'.
Let's avoid getting into a pantomine 'yes it is, no it isn't' routine people.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

He pointed out several areas where Ratchet was getting ~20fps, which I saw myself. Personally, I don't care much about my 360, nor would I if I had a PS3. I'll play games as they come along, but my Wii is still the primary console.
The 360 just seems like it's a little better for gaming overall. Despite its unreliability.

I'd like to know where he pointed them out. I'd like to go and play that section again. I've played that game 3 times and i have not noticed anything. Especially the part where there are a bunch of enemies in arena. Also does your friend have HDMI and those two settings turned on? (the color setting and the white setting)

While I completely agree that this argument is tired and useless, realize that "professional" reviewers face the same circumstances. Most magazines have more than one person reviewing the game and it's likely that each person is playing on a separate television. Probably in a different room. Maybe not even at the same time...
All in all, this is stupid. They're both close enough where it doesn't matter. The game has enough other flaws to gripe about, we don't need to start counting bushes while you're speeding through Chase Island (or whatever the hell it's called).
