Forums - Gaming - Ultimate Fanboy Face Off! Best Console Manufacturer of all Time!

Sony for me:

2 straight 100 million selling consoles (first 2 ever)

Sold 30 million+ handhelds (and still selling) in a market dominated by the gameboy

Most technologically advanced console ever (PS3)

IMO, Nintendo wins hands down for revitalizing gaming with the NES, consistent innovation, GREAT games, and building the most reliable consoles.

I'm going to have to say Nintendo. The Playstation 3 is the only good console Sony has ever made. Their other consoles were garbage. Nintendo, however, has multiple quality consoles with the Wii being the only bad one they've ever made. Sony still has to prove that they can make great consoles consistently.

If the Wii is so bad it must be killing you that you love Brawl so much!

It's a shame that a game this good was wasted on a poor console like the Wii. The Wii really holds this game back. It could have been much better on the PS3 -- a console that can handle an AAA game.

I hope to god you're kidding. SSBB Looks just fine on the Wii, and more horsepower would have done absolutely nothing to make it a better game. That is not, and has never been the point of the SB series.

Better processing does not make a better game by definition.

Nintendo forever!!! I got my first golden game boy pocket with donkey kong and then the N64 with super mario and I was never gonna betray my brand loyalty! even if nintendo had gone the way of sega :'( I would die with it! not that segas dead, just outa the console market

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

Nintendo is definitely number one because they have more systems under their belt, but Sony is a close second. MS is a cool third. The rest don't really matter anymore.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Taking 1st party games and reliability into account I would say:

1)Nintendo - if you really need an explanation you are a retarded

2)Sega - sure the PS2 had better games than Master System, Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast, but there is no way in hell that SCE games are better than Sega games. Even so, the Mega Drive had some amazing third party games.

3) Atari - making the 2600 was the only thing worth mentioning about Atari. It was so good that we can ignore the Jaguar and pretend it never existed.

I'm very offended that you didn't put Virtual Boy under Nintendo Systems. To protest I'm changing my Avatar for a few days.

^Guy pissing on Microsoft Sign

UBISOFT BOYCOTT

Nintendo NES ....it had Duckhunt ......and ROB

i don't know how people are saying sony make good hardware. The PS1 was good i'll agree, powerful and easy to program, unlike its competitors but it took the PS2 years to match up to what the Dreamcast had from launch. The PS2 still has issues with jagges that the DC never did.
Pretty much the same with the PS3, I'm sure production costs are far far less for the 360 hardware (forgetting the RRoD for a second) yet its unlikely we will ever see anything on the PS3 that's anything more than marginally better than a 360 equivalent. I don't think the cell, for all its hype and excitement as a step forward in processors will ever do much that the 360 cant with its older style chip set.

The PSP is a nice bit of kit, but UMD, or any optical based media is not suitable for a handheld, as they have proven so very well with battery issues still apparent 3 years on

HA! I see no-one has chosen Microsoft.
Glad to see the majority are choosing Nintendo! Sony seem to be second with Sega at a very close third.
Isn't there any way to do polls on this site?
