i don't know how people are saying sony make good hardware. The PS1 was good i'll agree, powerful and easy to program, unlike its competitors but it took the PS2 years to match up to what the Dreamcast had from launch. The PS2 still has issues with jagges that the DC never did.
Pretty much the same with the PS3, I'm sure production costs are far far less for the 360 hardware (forgetting the RRoD for a second) yet its unlikely we will ever see anything on the PS3 that's anything more than marginally better than a 360 equivalent. I don't think the cell, for all its hype and excitement as a step forward in processors will ever do much that the 360 cant with its older style chip set.

The PSP is a nice bit of kit, but UMD, or any optical based media is not suitable for a handheld, as they have proven so very well with battery issues still apparent 3 years on
