Which company appeals more to hardcore gamers... Microsoft or Sony? (sorry about the typo in the topic headline)

Both have their appealing aspects to the average hardcore gamer. However people to tend to side with one or the other.

Sony appeals more to hardcore gamers. Sony has more games to offer.

rock on is too hardcore for the 360 it may seem.

the 360 appeals to the more hardcore market. games like mass effect, bioshock, fable are no where near a casual experience. you can't just play these games in short bursts, they require alot of attention. plus, the attach ration for the 360 is amazong too, suggesting that the majority fo 360 are hardcore gamers, rather than casual.

They're both basically the same console with a few exclusives strewn in, so I'll just say both. You can't really tell them apart for the most part.

 Agreed. At the moment, MS has more games. Sony has better hardware. There audience is identical however.

MS and the X360 appeals more to both hardcore and casual gamers.

MS appeales to hardcore gamers more, they hardly have any casual games and a huge percentage fo their games on the 360 are FPS

 I am not sure I would equate FPS with hardcore myself.
