People around here tend to be pretty malign compared to what you'll find elsewhere. I haven't come across too many boards where things were so friendly. I don't think too many people around here don't recognize GTA4 as being an important game at the same time there aren't many actually complaining about WiiFit.

News from outside this site makes it seem like some kind of war, thankfully this site provides real numbers that we can all argue over and not be too fanboyish in the process.

Very well written. I completely agree that we should be rooting for both teams. If there is no competition, then there is no reason to put out anything good. At least thats how I feel about it.

Except for those of us who go to school (or work) and aren't able to access their consoles at all waking hours of the day but do have access to a computer.

I was thinking of something contructive to respond then I heard Wiifit fanboy and I am now wondering in which hole this fanboy has been hiding under, I haven't seen him, or do you mean novice analysts who see want nintendo domination.

Fanboys are just that, to them it's not just for value its about wining, if you ask them what, they probably will give you a million and one answers and not have any description on any of them in particular.

It's like a football team, you just want to see your team win - "FOR THE GLORY!!!"

OP : Nice post, but sadly nothing we can do can stop fanboyism..at least most people here have a sense of humor and are reasonably polite...unlike SystemWars in Gamespot, the place I escaped from. We also have great mods ;)

The game industry is growing and as a result, there will be more options for everyone. Some people (fanboys) can't accept that others have different aspects of gaming that interest them. Although I'm more interested in HD consoles because beyond prettier graphics, I think more complexity is added to the gaming environment, I can accept that some people enjoy the Wii for its new control scheme. I gave the Wii an honest try, but it's not really for me. I don't hate Nintendo because they got me into gaming. But I'm more of an old school Ninty fanboy. "Different Strokes for Different Folks."

I'm not trying to start a revolution of love, but with all the negatively erupting I needed to do something for myself to put things in perspective so I wrote this up. It's true there will always be fanboys, though I can ask and hope for reason. I'll never expect it, but I'll certainly fight for it.

I'm bumping this because I'd like a few more people to read it. The rules don't really say bumping isn't allowed, though technically it could be construed as multiple posts without content or purpose.
