Why else would they rotate the moon so that it specifically resembles a pokeball? I'm with you on this one. I bet a 'red moon' somehow ties in to the gem/pokemon that is the name for the third version of D/P

Pokemon Ruby has already been released. Garnet is possible but isn't a very popular gem stone.
