It's less wow because you have seen it all before. If you were 12 right now, you would think this generation is the best ever, and not understand what all the hubbub is about the older generations.

How so? I could have sworn the Atari era was the worst. You know the one Nintendo had to save us from. Forgot about that didn't you?

My opinion stems from a time I like playing games more often. I was less critical and more open to just playing games and moving on to more games. I had many friends that played games and we'd congregate at our houses for hours to play together. It just so happens that while this was happening in my life, (1997-2000) the PSOne, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast were in full effect. If it were a different set of consoles, I would have had a different result. Unfortunately, whatever answer you would give me on what generation is the best would realistically only stalemate with my answer, as I can name countless gems released in that era across all four platforms.

I'm hoping that by the end of the year, I'll be impressed by the PS3. Tons of potential there. (LBP)

Personally, I think this is one of the better generations of gaming. A ton of diversity in gaming.

I know how you feel.  I was completely unimpressed with GC, Xbox, and PS2.  I just stuck with PC and GBA games during that time. OK, I admit it, I played Xbox half a dozen times and PS2 for maybe a total of 50 hours (All GTA games).  I have yet to play the PS3 or 360 (though I should spend several hours with GTA4 later this week) but the Wii has amazed me.

He's just not thinking clearly. No one in their right mind would take the trashtastic Atari era, complete with catastrophic videogame crash over the N64/PSOne/Saturn combo. It's just not possible. Next thing I'm going to hear is someone telling me the Gizmondo was better than the Game Boy.

DS + PC this gen = amazing for me. Best gen ever.

Wii = Pretty good so far. Really depends on how things go in the future.

PSP = Fun for a while, but once it was stolen I don't really see a need to replace it.

PS3 = Potential to impress me, and a decent number of games I'd like to pick up.

360 = Rather dull. Maybe if I didn't have a gaming PC, but as it stands, I figure the Wii, PS3, PC, and DS will more than cover me on my gaming needs. Not very appealing to me at all.
