How so? I could have sworn the Atari era was the worst. You know the one Nintendo had to save us from. Forgot about that didn't you?
My opinion stems from a time I like playing games more often. I was less critical and more open to just playing games and moving on to more games. I had many friends that played games and we'd congregate at our houses for hours to play together. It just so happens that while this was happening in my life, (1997-2000) the PSOne, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast were in full effect. If it were a different set of consoles, I would have had a different result. Unfortunately, whatever answer you would give me on what generation is the best would realistically only stalemate with my answer, as I can name countless gems released in that era across all four platforms.
