E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

 

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

 

E3 2010- Tape runs out

DS fanbase may not be hardcore, but the DW fanbase is. I suspect it will open similiar to the previous DWs and have better legs due to the DS fanbase compistion.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Imagine Smash Bros., Wii fit and Mario Kart Wii, thats how many sales Dragon Quest will get. Well for me though

DQ is huge in Japan, and their is a lot of DS's in Japan,
but I think first week would be more of around Pokemon D/P launch sales level

I expect DQ9 to open like 8... (2.somewhat million) But the week after it won't have like an 80% drop-off like the previous entries in the DQ-series!... Somewhere like 65% is more 'expected' because of the less hardcore userbase that has a DS!
