I don't think any magazine will declare a winner, if just for the fact that I think many would hate having to say the Wii is the winner.
As for the EA console (off-topic alert), it really would be stupid for them to make their own console. Even with their huge library of relatively mediocre games, I doubt many people would be pushed to the EA console. Who would pick Madden over, say Final Fantasy? Medal of Honor over Halo? FIFA over PES (that's a more tough one). Even if they buy Take-Two and make GTA an exclusive, it'll probably suck anyway, and someone (maybe programmers who left TT after the buyout?) will just make a GTA-clone for the other consoles that will be better anyway.
Plus, there's little money in the hardware business. The money they'd save by not having to pay royalties to hardware makers would probably be offset by the cost of actually having to make and research the hardware. And then if it flops? We have three very strong competitors in the market right now, which is much different than the normal one monopoly that can be overthrown, and there isn't room for a 4th unknown, which more non-EA 3rd parties are probably going to shy away from.
Also, multi-platform games tend to sell more, so it would be counterproductive for them really.
Course, this doesn't mean I don't hope they actually do this, because it'll probably (rough guess, 95% probability of failure) be a failure, and then EA will crash and burn, and they'll either have to actually make some good games, or go out and then the games they own (GTA probably, Maxis team) can leave and make good games.
