I mean in usa we have for now x360 outselling ps3 4 times:

52,8096,277,323
16,9451,455,479

And now games sales:

Spiderman: The Movie 3Activision36,547307,109

It`s outselling only 2 times. Why not 4? I`m just curious. :)

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Yeah, and on top of that, Spiderman: The Movie 3 got horrible reviews. Seeing that most of the PS3 games got bad reviews, it makes Spiderman: The Move 3 look better, so more people buy it. By the way, every single movie-to-game sucks.

If the other games they can choose from are regarded as better than GTA4, then yes!

On the other hand, if your platform has few games and you're invested in it, you might as well buy any game even if it's not very good.

It really depends on the games that come out. I think POTC is a bad example. Also, this is the first week ever, that hardware for the 360 was 4x that of the PS3. Either way, the 360, at minimum, is selling 2x the software of similar games. However, the bigg(er) name titles, the 360 is killing them, as most games are selling at a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio for total software sales.

Well GTA4 will have to compete with Halo3 on the 360, what will it be competing with on the PS3? Maybe MGS4 if that actually makes it this year.

 The reality is that the XBox 360 version is selling at (roughly) 4 to 1 on most games released for both the XBox 360 and PS3. The games you listed have sold poorly across all platforms and do not work well in a comparison of this type.
