we know nothing about the actual 100% completion time required for this game.

and even less about this so-called "DLC" which is as likely to be horse arm... I mean, bullet-vest as 10 hours add-on.

So I'm asking, is there a point to start a thread about a rumour of a rumour of a rumour?? What purpose does it serve again?

How do you figure it is as likely to be the equivalent to horsearmor as it is to be 10 hours? The guys developing the content have said it will add 10 hours to the game. Oh thats right you are just trolling like usual because you hate video game machines for no good reason. I forgot who I was talking to.

@Griffin

There is no pricing out yet, but yeah I would expect 2.5-4 hours given the estimates thrown around for the main game. I still don't think they are going to charge $20 for it though. Seems to steep to entice anyone.

The ten hours was said by R* who said that the game would be 80hours, so if the game is 25 hours then you are going to pay 20-30 dollars for each 3hours of bonus stuff

Thats just about the worst logic I've ever seen.  If the game is 25 hours, we'll get an 80% larger game for around $40 total.....not bad at all.......

starcraft, have we not gone over this. oh ya you seemed to ignore what i said in the other forum. IGN reviews with Dan Houser a week or two ago says that the DLC has not been started and is just ideas. that is 25-40 if you do nothing BUT the storyline. how many people go on for 2 days and do just the story. the game is way longer than you think and no one knows how long the DLC is. about the difference in ps3 and 360, why would IGN say it if it didnt seem like an issue? its not just IGN, all the main game reviews have said the same thing. ps3 is slightly better. dont say it doesnt matter because iv seen your RANT and RANT about little difference when the ps3 got a crappy port. little hipocritcal.

im not going to go through posts from weeks ago but everyone knows you do. you have taken low blows on the ps3 comparing graphics from a shitty port. i know how it feels to have the lower quality version of a game... its ok.

At this point (less than a week from release, no less) estimates regarding game play are just that: estimates. Although seeing as how IGN reviewers have already finished the game, 25-40 hours seems to be a pretty fair estimate. Racing through a GTA game kind of defeats the purpose of the sandbox format, which encourages the gamer to play around and explore, but to each his own.

Any speculation regarding the 360 DLC however is just that: speculation. I don't quite follow the logic that because the main story line is lower than the previous overblown estimates (100 hours?) that the DLC content/missions/whatever are directly and proportionately shorter as well. Especially considering that the content doesn't even exist yet in its entirety.

But, if Rockstar made a statement that it would add 10 hours of game play, it's not unfair to expect that to add 10 hours worth of story, rather than an extra 10 hours of running around on unrelated main plot tasks. That especially applies if they end up charging $30 for each chapter (which, for 10 hours of story play is fairly priced). Where is that figure from anyway? As far as I can tell, there have been no announcements regarding DLC pricing, seeing as how the content is still being developed. $15-20 per chapter seems more likely.

Or if I was to keep extrapolating like Starcraft is maybe the DLC is 10 hours for the noob and 3h for the hardcore lol..

We don't know shit about the actual amount of time the game will take and what the DLC will be like so stop trying to argue like mad about it.... PS : You can get to the end of Oblivion just doing the main quest in around 15 hours so based on all the comments in this thread Oblivion is a 15 hours game....

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

this is going to feel so sweet when the DLC and game are released. i honestly can not wait for the numbers. i will message them to you starcraft.

serious desperation here starcraft.

i can 110% guarantee that if IGN hadn't said anything about the PS3 version being superior, we wouldn't have seen ANY of these stupid threads from starcraft. its obvious he feels threatened by the fact that the PS3 version might be better than his 360 version.

in any case its not confirmed that the DLC is 10 hours long, or even that its anything other than horse armor, so this thread is baseless and pointless, both the games will be the same length until otherwise confirmed, and no confirmed does not mean another rumor.

also, if people were "claiming the games core length to be 100 hours" (don't think anyone said the main storyline would take that long, link would be nice) wouldn't the same thing apply to the people saying that DLC is "10 hours" worth of extra game play?

We have had some ridiculously exaggerated stories about GTAIV's length recently. Some sources have put the core length at around 100 hours, leading Sony to declare that the game is big enough without Microsoft's DLC.

Well according to the IGN review, both versions currently take far less than 100 hours to complete. To get to the end of the story, it will take you 25-45 hours.

Some people have been claiming the DLC installments will be about 10 hours in length each, which all of a sudden looks much more significant.

You didn't really mention or care much about the DLC much until you discovered the PS3 version was superior graphically. It really makes me wonder... are trying to compensate for something?
