At this point (less than a week from release, no less) estimates regarding game play are just that: estimates. Although seeing as how IGN reviewers have already finished the game, 25-40 hours seems to be a pretty fair estimate. Racing through a GTA game kind of defeats the purpose of the sandbox format, which encourages the gamer to play around and explore, but to each his own.
Any speculation regarding the 360 DLC however is just that: speculation. I don't quite follow the logic that because the main story line is lower than the previous overblown estimates (100 hours?) that the DLC content/missions/whatever are directly and proportionately shorter as well. Especially considering that the content doesn't even exist yet in its entirety.
But, if Rockstar made a statement that it would add 10 hours of game play, it's not unfair to expect that to add 10 hours worth of story, rather than an extra 10 hours of running around on unrelated main plot tasks. That especially applies if they end up charging $30 for each chapter (which, for 10 hours of story play is fairly priced). Where is that figure from anyway? As far as I can tell, there have been no announcements regarding DLC pricing, seeing as how the content is still being developed. $15-20 per chapter seems more likely.
