Has Konami redeemed themselves (like Capcom’s redemption arc)?

Yes, Konami is back 0 0%

No, but they’re making progress 3 100.00%

No, not even close 0 0%

No, I’ll never forgive ... 0 0%

We all know the Capcom redemption arc that began in 2017 with RE7 and has been going strong ever since, hitting home run after home run with very few misses (ExoPrimal being an outlier). It’s been nothing short of mesmerizing the turnaround they pulled off. And now Konami has revived beloved IPs in a meaningful way with Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 remakes and also Silent Hill f and Townfall with some promising games on the horizon in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Rev NOiR and Silent Hill 1 remake. Also remastering Suikoden 1 and 2.

Is it enough to win back your good graces like Capcom has won a ton of people back post-2017? Or do they still have a ways to go?

They’re certainly trending in the right direction for me (which I haven’t been able to say for them in a while). They’re not quite there yet, though. Though they’ve come a long way since Metal Gear Survive and Contra Rogue Corps, selling a last gen port of PES 2016 on Steam and lying about it, selling save slots in Metal Gear Survive, cancelling Silent Hills and not letting Kojima receive his award (or finish MGS5) and I’ll just say… keep up the good work. Never thought I’d say that in the year 2026.

BTW, it triple-posted this on my phone, so ignore or better yet, delete the other 2 dead link threads.

Prime Konami are my favorite "developers" of all time. I like current Konami but they're not even remotely comparable to what they used to be. They're approaching good/decent developers to make their games for them, which is better than letting all these awesome IP's rot, but it isn't the same as developing the games yourself.

They're taking steps in the right direction, but no I don't view that as redemption. I am however really surprised at how much eFootball (which is developed in-house) improved over the years and how big it is becoming!
