I almost missed that this game released a couple of days ago.

Is there any love for this game on this forum?

I played the shit out of the original Truxton on Megadrive (and emulation).

I currently playing Splatoon Raiders but I’ll get this game soon for the Switch 2.

EDIT:// OK so I put in an order for the physical game now, so I’ll have it in a couple of days :P

EDIT2:// Here’s Digital Foundrys review of the game

The whole widescree presentation is a bit of a turnoff. Its okay... definitely feels like a unity game (cause it is). I played the demo on the XB and I'm good at that point. I will stick to Truxton 1 & 2 on my Evercade.

I personally have no issues with the 16:9 aspect ratio.

Haven't heard much on it, though it did very well with critics. Currently sits at 86 on OpenCritic, I believe? That places it right around where MKWorld performed, for reference.

Since it’s a shoot ’em up/bullet hell game I would not expect it to get that high on MC since the genre is niche nowadays.

I love the original. So I am interested. May not get it at launch as I spent some cash on a 360 game.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Just got my Switch 2 copy of the game (not played it yet) and it came with a old school booklet in the game case with some info about the game modes and backstory for the characters and stuff which is a really nice touch.

Man this game kicked my ass!

Been a while since I played a proper shoot ’em up took a while to get in the mindset :P

Now I’ve played it a bit more.

I feel I’m a bit too eager when playing which leads to my own demise most often :P

Game runs great, but I do notice some few minor slowdowns when there are a ton of stuff on the screen (Switch 2 version). But that is in no way or form a problem.

After all, I grew up with these types of games on 8-bit and 16-bit and on home systems it was much more common and the games were/are still fully playable.
