It would have been more exciting if there weren't so many other mini game collections on the Wii, but I didn't get any of the others (except warioware) so this might be a purchase if it's good enough. |
Not confirmed, but I'm sure they are. The MP franchise has almost turned into Madden - it keeps selling year, upon year - with slight incremental changes.
As I mentioned, I have MP4 - and we played this to death. It almost got more playtime in our house, than any other game I had. Friends come from interstate, and still ask to play this.
Its much more than a mini-game collection. The levels (boards) actually have a lot of strategy, luck and fun in themselves - and really make the game (IMO). The game is also a little like Mario Kart, in that its 20% skill and 80% luck. This makes it popular with non-gamers, as they actually feel (and they do) have a fighting chance of winning.
Its also very clever the way it pits players against each other. With 4 people playing, its not necessarily 1-1 -1-1 competitive... you get 3-1 matches, 2-2 matches, 1-1 matches... and other combinations. Part of the reason why its so much more fun with people than it is with the AI alone.
WarioWare hasn't had any real gametime in our house at all... but I'm sure this would. Its also a great "drinking" game (wish Nintendo would have the balls to actually include a "drinking" mode within the game ;).
