Forums - Gaming - So Elebits is actually pretty damn fun.

Yup. I got it quite some time ago for 20 bucks. Played it for 10 or 15 minutes, said "huh" and put it back on the shelf. Well I finally gave it another chance and you know what, I'm fairly hooked.

The puzzles are fairly smart, the physics are great, the elebits are cute, the godawful story and voicework are kept to a minimum and the gameplay is frantic yet controlled.

Oh sure there are some problems. Doors are a pain in the ass of epic proportions. I'm reminded of the scene in Police Academy where the girl kicks the door open, only to have it slam back in her face. Doors arbitrarily close on you after just a couple seconds, turning the door knob turning mechanic from an occasional and novel practice to a constant hell. Also, the IR is definitely from an earlier point in the Wii's dev cycle. It just feels a tad over responsive.

But really, the game is just fun. I love the way the levels slowly light up the more Elebits you catch. I'm quite intrigued for the sequel.

The doors certainly took some getting used to but that was all part of the physics. If you yanked on it hard, it would bounce back just like a real door.

Elebits is a pretty fun title. I've started playing around with it the same way I played GTA Vice City....never bothered with the missions, just did my own thing. It can be great fun to pick up a huge item and throw it against a book case or shelf and then you move on to picking up bigger items and smashing bigger things.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

what i love is moving objects around in space....zap hold move hand forward and object move as well

Konami just released their follow up to Elebits. It's called Target Terror. Check it out, stof. You can't go wrong with that game.

This post was so full of win. @Topic: Eledees definately looks a game that i might be interested in, and was going to buy it, but since it was impossible to find anywhere (since launch), i didn't get the game (maybe some day). Edit: Had to come back to this thread, since after posting, i went for a smoke and while smoking i was laughing thinking about the thread we have next week "So, i got Target Terror..." from Stof. I'd bet that thread would be no.1 in hot topics for the whole week, for people just posting pics of Nelson from Simpsons.

You have no idea how strong the urge to rent that game is. it is pretty damn strong.

I liked Elebits. It is kind of ugly but it is pretty fun and was one of the games that carried me through year one.

I can understand the door thing. I also though items sometimes just seemed to break far too easily and other times when I wanted to break them it was much more difficult.

Some of the later levels get very, very frustrating when there are piles of debris on the ground, and you can't get to what you're looking for. Otherwise, surprisingly enjoyable game.

I was thinking about the same when i read the IGN review. Too bad we don't have any place that rents games around here (well, PS2 is exeption), when during the NES days, there was quite a few places where you could rent games (and Megadrive and games was quite common in rentals, too bad that the MD games were hard to find if you wanted to buy one).

On one of the level's, if you do well enough, you can power up your gun so that it is strong enough to uproot buildings. That is a good time! Lifting tracters, bulldozers, semi's is fun too.

You are indestructable by the way; as you can lift up a house or building, walk under it and let go only to see it perfectly balanced in the air until you manipulate it again or walk all the way across.

@stof; the challenge in the missions is finding the pink elebits; some of them are extremely well hidden. Also the challenge levels are hard!

I love the Cyclone update in the city. Tons of fun.
