Today was my first day experiencing an authentic emulation of what it would be like to experience NES/SNES on an RGB CRTV— and wow. It’s unbelievable! Below is a screenshot I took as I was getting everything set up.

It’s not the best photo to convey the importance of CRT over pixel perfect… so what photos do you have to share to showcase CRT over Pixel Perfect?

God damn I miss CRTs. The soft glow, the invisible fuzzy forcefield, the nigh instantaneous input response.

I don't own one any more as I just don't have anywhere to put it, but in many ways HDTVs are a step down, in spite of their advantages in stuff like clarity and size.

I still have one little CRT to be able to use Master System Light Phaser - as far as the thing works anymore after 35 years of use.

Yeah it's amazing that for all the advances in technology, more modern displays are actually in many ways not as good as CRTs.

They're definitely one of those older technologies I miss the most.

Just my multiformat BVM and 480i set.

A really nice powered stand for a PVM. These stands are still made for $600 by a company in the USA.

Super Mario Bros through composite on an NES with a brand new board, new caps, and new PSU. It's a 9 inch PVM.

My buddy RGB modded this badboy.
