Always loved the way the snow intensified the further you got into the level in Snow Barrel Blast (Donkey Kong Country)

I almost put this one as the picture in the OP, one of my favourites as well.

DriveClub

It's insane how good Driveclub still looks for a 12 year old game; it's as old now as say Metroid Prime or Mario Sunshine was when Driveclub came out.

Yeah it's a shame capture was still limited to 720p with heavy you tube compression. My original video files look so much better still.

It would be awesome if DriveClub got a proper VR2 port of the whole game, why did you close BluePoint Sony (and ignore VR2 :/)

I Played the whole game again on PSVR1 but it was rough, low res, no rain, max 6 opponents, massive cutback on the environment.
Plus no ps4 pro patch for 60fps, so also still stuck at 30fps on ps5 :(

I remember Giant Bomb playing this in VR and Jeff kept sinking further in the seat. It was pretty funny.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Rain on Samus visor Metroid prime and the rain splashing on her arm cannon.

Hell yeah

Days Gone, but not gif right now.

Snow, weather, lightning... fantastic. Driving at night time with heavy rain and thunder through wooded areas was an incredible experience. I would imagine it looks better in the remaster.

The last few seconds from Shadow of the Colossus are hauntingly beautiful. It's the same effect from the final colossus, but more cinematic and without the low framerate.

09:00 onwards.

Breathtaking. MUCH better than the remake's effect.

It used to turn on me even more than sinking. By the end of the race I would be facing left on my couch to look out the front window, or stare out the side window if I kept sitting straight.

I still sink now and then in GT7 VR2 :/ At least the rotational drift is fixed, positional drift still happens occasionally. GT7's weather effects are also still behind DriveClub. Often you can't even see its raining, the windshield effects are far too subtle. Why is the windshield wiper even on. No lightning in GT7 either, was always cool with lightning at night in DC, lighting up the whole track for a flash.

Also makes me miss PGR! DC added cities later like the Port of Vancouver up there.

I guess off topic, because water isn't weather, but Wave Race 64 absolutely stunned me with the water and impact to gameplay. Just stunning, and kind of sad that other games haven't reproduced said water impact.

I don't know how to post gifs, but Tsushima had great weather effects.

“Consoles are great… if you like paying extra for features PCs had in 2005.”

I like the weather changes in the plains map of Monster Hunter Wilds, from dry desert, to greens to thunderstorms. Game launched with many issues a year ago but this is one of the few things that stood up as a cool thing for me, i appreciate elements that beenfit immersion

Its also weird that this is my fav map of the game cause generally the "desert areas" in any MH game are the ones i like the least.

Another one that holds up extremely well.

This will be 20 years old next year:
