Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Online = TPS = 3rd Person Shite

@ssj12

I think most people are just dissapointed because MGO was expected to be amazing for fans of the series. However MGS's gameplay just dosn't translate to multiplayer well -- basic stuff like aiming is too hard ( its L1(hold) + Triangle(Press) + R1(press/hold fires) - thats to aim and fire ...

I found that when i was using auto-aim i easily killed my opponents while when i was forced to aim you have that akward period of 2 - 5 secs where both players are basically doing nothing ... then you fire and someone dies ...
Compare that to CoD4 online which is easier to aim, much faster paced and generally more fun and you'll find MGO beta dissapointing ...

** Ofcourse im still buying MGS4 LE day 1 due to the fact the Single Player is awsome ... and ill give both the beta and final ver. of MGO another go ...

Does it matter though? Who buys MGS games because of its online or gameplay anyway? As long as the single player story is amazing I'm paying for my LE copy. I'll probably never even give MGO a spin.

Yeah the controls are a bit weird, i mean why not keep the same controls as previous MG?

It's ok. I would like a quicker weapon change and a grenade button separate. I'll play it a little - it reminds me of COD4 online but with a mgs twist :P I prefer warhawk :P

 I wont be able to comment on that till tomorrow, but the controls are probably different because of the switch to make it more 'western friendly', which is why the controls are different compared to the MGS3.

I think everyone expected the most revolutionary multiplayer experience ever, and that it would play like an FPS.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

An online Japanese TPS?

Yeah, that was enough to make me think twice about playing it.

 A) Its a beta, I imagine issues like this are going to be solved (the aiming difficulties)

B) You were expecting COD4? Thats a stupid thing to expect when youre playing METAL GEAR online.

Yeah and the fact that you dont own a PS3 eh?

Yeah... I was hyped for this and I don't think I've been more dissapointed so far this generation.
