I miss DVD features and early DVD menus themed after the movie. Extras when you do get them, just a trailer at best. DVD had hours of the making of. Trivia games sometimes. BR has the extra space.

As well as commentary tracks.

I watched the entire 11 hours of LotR extended edition listening to the directors talk about the scenes. Very cool to hear what all went on behind the scenes, where it was filmed, reasoning behind shots and sequences. And plenty extras as well.

And some allow you to choose which version to watch, for example Blade Runner (1982 to be clear)

And of course the lossless audio, including 192khz/24 bit soundtrack on Akira.
(You obviously can't hear 192khz yet switching between the original and remastered soundtrack the difference in clarity is immense)

Disney/Pixar movies always had extra shorts included as well.

Around the Network

I still remember thinking when I heard about Blu Ray back in 2006 "what's the point, DVD looks fine" haha.

At that time our family was still using a CRT TV and "HD" was just another buzzword I didn't have any experience with.

Can't remember my first Blu Ray but I think it might have been Godzilla 2014, before that I just kept buying DVDs cos they were cheaper.
