I didn't know that. Also, "The World Ends With You" might be too big to fit, lol
Anyway:
The game is a Japanese Role Playing Game on the DS. It is an action RPG with amazing production values in music, graphics, and general gameplay. So good, in fact, that Bozon from IGN picked it as his prediction for GotY 2008.
It has since scored about 90 percent from its major reviewers. It's from the creators of Kingdom Hearts who wanted to do a more adult storyline and gameplay.
You play as a youth on the streets of modern Japan. You can also read minds of the thousands of pedestrians that clutter the streets.
Shimigami have kidnapped you(have you ever seen Gantz or Bleach?) and are forcing you to play a game for your own survival. You must complete tasks for 7 days, or you and the other players will be killed.
Early on, you meet up with a female character who wants you to partner up with her.
Overall, the story is filled with amazing twists and really make it stand out as one of the best JRPG stories I've played. I absolutely loved the "set in modern Japan" theme.
The battles take place on the top and bottom screen of the DS. You Fight with your guy on the bottom with the stilus, and on the top with the girl.
It's complicated, but really fun and rewarding. You share health meters.
If you aren't that great at the game, you can set her on auto-fight, you can also turn the difficulty up or down during the game.
Skills and leveling are based upon a Materia system, ala FFVII, but this time they are called pins. You can buy pins, or find them off bosses. You buy clothing from stores to equip your characters, and you eat food, you have to do battles to digest it.
You can only eat once a real time day, so you have to wait for the date to switch before you eat again.
Also, when you don't play the game, and come back, your materia(pins) will level up for the time you are gone, like rest EXP for World of Warcraft.
Customizing and mastering your materia is one of the coolest parts of the game.
You can also trade, and earn pins online, somehow, but I haven't done that yet.
Also, the music is just increadible, the best in game soundtrack since Rock Band. Can't get it out of your head.
Anyway, that's it, want some screenshots? Game is absolutely amazing, best on DS, imo, and I LOVE Ace Attorney, Elite Beat Agents, and Hotel Dusk.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
