With the huge number of layoffs at turn10 and the underperformance of Forza Motorsport it seems unlikely that series is going to be continued anytime soon. Also with the decline in Xbox console hardware and future xbox devices such as the Ally having access to PC games there is already a huge number of racing sims on PC. The gap in the market (racing sims for xbox consoles) has closed.
Forza Horizon is monumentally successful but if Forza were to add another spin-off series to it's line-up which would you like to see?
Forza Underground: While another arcadey openworld racer like the Horizon series, this would be based on underground illegal street racing. The fall of NFS has left a big gap for this type of racer. While it might be a little similar to the Horizon series the theme, darker tone, different story, cops etc, it should be able to differentiate it self enough from that other series in both feel and gameplay to be a worthy choice.
Forza Rally: Pretty self explanatory. The Dirt/WRC games from codemasters have fallen. WRC license has returned to Kylotonn and other competitors like Assetto Corsa Rally are coming but there may still be an opportunity here.
Forza Extreme: Inspired by titles like Motorstorm, Split/Second and Blur this title would be an arcade racer featuring hazardous tracks featuring extreme weather and other obstacles that can wreck your car, with optional powerups added into the mix.
Forza Arcade: While still themed around circuit racing, a more arcadey and approachable title. Less realistic visuals and light-hearted. See the upcoming iRacing Arcade as an example.
Do you think they should try any of these, something else, or nothing at all?
