Halo project, isn't that what Halo Wars is? I don't know everything about the Halo universe, but isn't Halo Wars about the fall of Reach, which takes place prior to the first Halo?
Anyway, they should let Factor 5 make a flying game for events preceding the first Halo. If there is anything I'd like to do in the Halo universe, it would be to fly a fighter in space and taking out Covenant ships. Maybe Factor 5 wouldn't be good enough to handle such a game *cough* Lair *cough*, but just throwing that idea out there.
I tend to follow developers, not franchises. Max Payne and Halo are dead to me.
Now it's all about Bungie's next project and Alan Wake.

Why do you think this?
Max Payne 1 was trully a great game but part 2 was already starting to show weak sports.
Plus if we go by metacritic FEAR had 88 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/fear?q=F.E.A.R.
While Max Payne 1 had 89 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/maxpayne?q=max%20payne
and Max Payne 2 had 86 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/maxpayne2?q=max%20payne
I don't see where the huge discrepancy in quality you see comes from.
Monolith Team is one of the best FPS teams around and they were busy with condemned and condemned 2 so none of the FEAR crappy expansion packs were done by them. Project Origin will be their first return to true FPS in 3 years and I expect it to be amazing.
I don't know about Condemned, but I think F.E.A.R is only a 7.5ish game. The scares were pretty cool and freaked me out, but fighting your way through wave after wave of clone bad guys (literally, lol) through cramped and dark corridors wasn't my definition of awesome. On top of that, I hated how everything relied on you, yet you're character has no name (or face for that matter). Almost like a failed Gordon Freeman attempt in this game.
But hey, at least it wasn't like Doom 3 with monster closets in every dark room, right?

To this day, I have not played a game with better AI than FEAR which was made 3 years ago. Also the guns blazing gun play is only rivaled by Halo 3 to this day...which I preffer over the more strategic COD4/Ghost Recon approach.
Visuals were guite impressive at the time with slow mo effects. Plus story is pretty cool...even though its kind of played out now. Many games and movies have done similar stories in recent years... Rating when I played it in 2005 would be a 9.5 for me.
The only general complaint is that it did not have variety which I agree and I hope the sequel fixes.
For the sequel, I don't expect the game to do huge numbers in sales but reviews I'm sure will be stellar. I've not played a bad Monolith game yet.
Who's supposed to be working on Max Payne 3? AFAIK the original team is working on Alan Wake.
yeah , i am a fan of MAX PAYNE series. Remedy pls do your magic!!!
