Literally every Call of Duty, Battlefield, and every EA sport game ever since they became glorified slot machines.
I don't get how those annual releases keep making SO. MUCH. MONEY.

GTA.

And RDR. It’s all just so boring. There’s plenty more games that would qualify as well.

I didn’t play GTA when I was in my early 20s because I didn’t like what it represented. I still don’t, but the graphics are so terrible that it’s easy to dismiss it all as “a game” now.

So I bought the GTA trilogy for Switch and that’s where I keep ending up. Very boring. Maybe it gets better, but I really doubt it. Even at the time the gameplay was limited (very minimal exploration, no ledge grabbing, terrible jump mechanics), so it’s not like it was “amazing at the time” kind of gameplay.

I know the hook of the game was and probably still is the subversive nature of it, but to me that always just felt juvenile and not “mature.”

Recently I really enjoyed a game called Sand Land. Feel like that one should have gotten more love.

Balatro. I cannot understand the appeal no matter how much time I put into it!

Red Dead Redemption 2. It seemed like everyone loved that game, so when I finally started playing it, it was so boring.

Any rhythm game. DDR, Guitar Hero, Rhythm Heaven. Sure, as a mini game in a larger game, that’s fine. But as the whole game? Yeah, I don’t have the kind of brain that makes any of that fun for long periods of time.

COD 4 and on.

Back in the day, I was a Halo guy. When COD 4 came out, and everyone was like, omg, this is next-level blah blah blah, I decided to give it a shot. I was appalled. It seemed like they took what Halo was at the time and removed half the skill barrier. No longer was defense a part of the game. It was all just twitch-based, who ever shot first toddler stuff. And then, when I saw the first field order called in where a helicopter was killing everyone and the player had nothing to do with it... that was it. I was out lol.

For me it would be The Last of Us, decent gameplay, didn't think much of the story, not enough for me to care for any other games in the series really. I can see why people like it for that latter but wasn't for me and found the rest kinda slow, plus by the end hated the protag. Never owned it though, borrowed it from a friend on PS3.

Hmm, pie.

Horizon FW

What was controversial about Horizon?

Mostly Alloy never shutting up and the game having a "woke agenda" whatever.

Last of Us and Uncharted 2 and every Uncharted game after that.
They are OK for interactive movies but for a game, they are awful and i simply dont get how these "games" got so many praise.
On the other hand i totally disagree with hate for Dragon Age Veilguard. It look gorgeous, have rly fun combat and most of companions are interesting.
