Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is out now on Switch 1 and 2

A preview has been leaked online showing gameplay of the jungle planet, Viewros

Presumably this means previews will go live soon and we'll get a better look at the game in action

New overview trailer:

It looks phenomenal. Going by the trailer this games will probably meet all my expectations and then some. I love that the Federation Troopers are actually involved in both gameplay and story. Prime 3 toyed a little bit with this, but now they are going all out and I'm in for it.

Just three weeks more...

Myles MacKenzie… he really has me worried about this game.

Who?

EDIT: Oh, the Federation guy. I don't know, what I saw from the side characters looked interesting to me.

Maybe a small spoiler if you’re looking to go into the game totally blind, but early impressions dropped today and they’re citing this character as MP4B’s one major flaw. Everything else about the game has been heavily praised. Literally just this one NPC.

I think it's funny that some of the previewers that are blowing this one NPC out of proportion are the same ones that called people out for saying that the bike didn't feel like it belonged in a Metroid game xD

yeah the more I look into it, some outlets are merely making something much bigger than it is. Sounds like many outlets are citing that these NPC characters are only present for a small section in the game’s opening lol.

But(!) I will remain cautiously optimistic. Everything I’ve heard sounds veeeery reassuring so far.

Yeah, I mean... it COULD be concearning if he was a permanent thing and it was sticked to Samus's butt (he wished) for the entire playthrough. But as far as I'm concearned, he is just present in a very specific section of the game.

Then again, I'm a weird Metroid fan. I liked Other M for starters (although I think it's the weakest in the franchise). Prime 3 is my favourite Prime game. So you could say I'm more open to try certain things that wouldn't sit well with the more traditional fans (more cinematic action, the presence of NPCs...). So... maybe I'm not the best to say what is concearning and what isn't xD

Anyway, like you said, everything else seems VERY promising and looks like Retro Studios really went all out to prove that they are the true "Metroid Prime" guys after the initial Bandai Namco fiasco. Can't wait to actually play this.

Different but cool. I can dig it.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

the prime music vibes went hard in this trailer
