Bah, I got 1999 in a really cheap way. It's not praise worthy. =P
Multiplayer ->
Local ->
Execution ->
Bots : 1 ->
Bot AI : Casual ->
Round Limit: 15 ->
Time Limit: 1 ->
Custom Weapons: Everything Mulcher ->
Map: Day One ->
With this set-up, the bot always grabs a Mulcher and moves way to slow to ever reach you before the meager 1-minute time limit expires, and the round ends in a stalemate. This effectively creates a never-ending series of stalemates, which pile up without you actually being there as long as you use a Wired Controller or a Play and Charge Kit. Even if the bot somehow kills you (which never happened to me) he had to do it 14 more times to end the match.
If you do this, make sure to load the game onto your hard drive both to preserve your disk drive and keep the noise down in case you want to leave it running while you sleep or watch TV.
^^^nice trick... How long did it take you to do that?
How many hours? About 40 I guess...
I will not catch BrainBox.. but at least I will be able to be in the top 5

Each round is a minute, and then there's ten seconds before the next, so at 70 secs a round you're looking at around 39 hours. Figure in the small delays between the round end signs and load in for the next match, and 40 sounds dead on.
It was a little less for me since I had already played over 300 rounds doing other stuff.
probably will made it for the deadline... I hope Chapter 5 is not that difficult too

What's the best way to grind out the Seriously 2.0? One of my friends said he was up to 50,000 but he was kinda vague in how he did it. There is no way I'll catch you in the league (or even place) but was curious nonetheless :D

I heard Riding the Brumak at the end of the game is the easiest way to increase the Kill count.. Dunno if it works since I did not tried yet

I'm doing it that way, but i have no play and charge kit so it is really inefficient
For seriously, I have over 32k, mostly through repeating Act 1 Chapter 4

Got a wired drum kit or guitar from Rock band? Those will work since you're not actually playing.
As for Seriously 2.0, I did the Brumak Rodeo myself. Skip cutscene, line up shot, hit A to kill the driving instructions, missile first group or Locust, line up second shot, missile second group before reavers hit you and mess up your aim. Hit reload checkpoint, and repeat about 1200 times or so. =P
I have PIP on my TV so I was actually watching movies while I was doing this, and it's not hard, so I could actually enjoy a movie and grind this out at the same time. Again, hard drive load can help here, this time to shave a few second off the load-time for reloading the checkpoint. I was averaging about 8000 kills and hour.
I have split screen so it is not so painful, but I don't have a guitar or anything... what I do is just watch TV and nudge the controller once in a while
