Those 95 on gears of war 2 got me into bronze! I won't be able to compete properly in the race though.... I have LBP to play!

I'm not a 360 owner but I have been wondering for ages why noone has 1000/1000 on DMC4 eh eh...
I have the game on the PS3 and I have had 1000/100 forever ( the game actually grants you achievements even for the PS3).
I woudn't exactly rank this game as crazy hard...
PS : I will admit I spent a crazy amount of time on the game though, at the time there wasn't much else to play on the PS3 but aside from S ranking Bloody Palace, the rest of the achievements are not that hard...
@Ail
No idea, are the Achievements and Trophies exactly the same? Anyway the answer is obviously youre a more skilled and passionate hack n slash player, or the Achievements are harder. Having played DMC4 myself I felt it required an insane amount of time and patience.
EDIT: Oops I see what you meant there. So they are the same but you dont get Trophies. Well you got your answer then and well done to you. Get a 360 and get that 1000G ;)
Seriously, that Devil May Cry score is mighty impressive.

There's no trophies ( they did not exist at the time and haven't been patched), but the game saves what they call 'accomplishments' on the network for the PS3 version and they are exactly the same as achievements ( and if you trade saves you don't get them as they are not kept in the save file).
Noone can see those 'accomplishments' as they are a mechanism specific to DMC4, I guess at the time Capcom wanted to give PS3 users a taste of what achievements were like.
I spend quite a bit of time on the game but didn't feel they were really that hard except Bloody Palace, I was lucky to get an S ranking the first time I completed it.
Once you played the game a bit and start working on scores ( and the PS3 leaderboard top 50 was 90% crazy skilled japanese guys) making the goal for the achievements actually come naturally..
I don't think I am more skilled than Erikers seeing what he has done so far, far from it.
But I was passionate about the game ( enough to spend so much time that I was number 2 ranked US player on the normal leaderboard ( take that with a grain of salt, all the good players make their score on DMD and I didn't spend so much time in that mode so my rank is mostly a result of less competition in the mode I played the most).
I think I have no damage in like 50% of the normal mode missions, I am not in the same league as the people that have no damage every DMD missions ( and they exist, there are folks that no damage DMD while maximising style at the same time and maximising style can be very risky while trying to take no damage( and boring as it involves a lot of taunting or reclearing the rooms that respawn or dragging a scarecrow accross half a level with Nero not to let your style gauge drop..)).
The funny thing is I got 1000/1000 without working on it. The whole time I was working on the leaderboard or just trying to beat every mode once. The one exception being Bloody Palace, once I noticed I had every other achievement I decided to work on that one...( and it took me more than a few tries to beat the thing..)
ARGH I forgot to save at Level 13 for Fallout 3. There goes 40G ;)
Machina, hows Fable 2? The no dieing thing must be annoying you.

I just put in about 8 straight days of DMC 4. I've put in about 72 hours now on it overall. I did Dante Must Die mode, Hell & Hell and Bloody Palace. This is peppered around tons of time wasting orb spamming sessions because of the ridiculous difficulty of DMD and Hell & Hell. I had to keep making sure I had enough health to complete the missions, and a few Holy Waters for each level on Hell & Hell.
From what you're saying I think you're answering your own question about why nobody has high scores on the game here. You put in an incredible amount of time into the game, moreso than most people would ever attempt I bet. I'm very close to 10,000 kills which would put me at 770 points. I have no desire to spam missions over and over to get to 1 million proud souls, that's just a dumb achievement not balanced at all with the orbs and kill achievements.
I know I could S rank the 3 lowest difficulties, but I've played through the game 6 times, bloody palace twice and I don't have the heart right now to play through it 3 more times. If I put forth the effort I would end with 860 points (43/46 done). I will never bother S ranking Dante Must Die or Bloody Palace and screw the 1 mill proud souls. Anyways, I played my ass off to get the lead for this game and right now I'd be happy if I never saw Nero or Dante for the next 5 years ;)

Yeah, I was obsessed with the leaderboard so orbs and souls just came as I was trying to improve scores and I never had to farm them. I think by now I probably have like 2-3 millions red orbs collected lol ...
It's the one game that if there was a trophy patch I would so restart it from scratch to get a platinum trophy...
PS : It's 100k proud souls, not 1 millions.

Proud Millionaire (40) Acquire 1,000,000 Proud Souls
You sure you actually did that?
By the way, couldn't help noticing your sig, the 360-PS3 gap is 5.8 million and growing coincedentally.
