Nice! I've got my hands on Tales of Vesperia: Special Edition and a 2800 Microsoft points card. I bought Castle Crashers, Galaga Legions and Alien Hominid HD.
So far, I have to say that my favorite game of the 4 I've got is Castle Crashers. It's simply amazing: stunning art style, fits-the-action soundtrack, great difficulty level, lots of depth for a XBLA game, etc. So far, I've tried the Blue Soldier and the Alien from Alien Hominid (magic shot abuse, hehe). I have to say, The Behemoth really got the feel of the beat 'em up genre and it reminds me of Guardian Heroes a lot! I wonder which genre and game influence they're going to take on for their next game, maybe something à la Gunstar Heroes (Alien Hominid was a bit of Contra and Metal Slug, but we haven't seen a world map one yet)?
Galaga Legions is a very fun little SHMUP, and manic too (but not like a Cave shooter)! I have to say, it's pretty hard, but once you get used to the various Galaga spawn points, you just got to place the satellites in the good way! So far, I've only completed Area 3 in Adventure Mode, and I'm going to take on Area 4 and 5 in Championship Mode. Be careful EaglesEye379, I'm coming for ya! ^^
Alien Hominid HD is, well, Alien Hominid! Same good game I've played on the GameCube. I'm only missing the hats and head chomp achievement, which is fricking impossible by the way... >_>
I've started Tales of Vesperia late last night (Castle Crashers sucked all my time), and I'm liking it so far! The only big complaint I have is Yuri's voice acting... Why is he not expressing any emotions? I've only noticed a bit more in the skits (I love them!), but other than that, he's pretty annoying in my opinion. I better get used to him though, because he's the key character in the game! Some other lines (and animations) are cheesy as well, but hey, it's a translated JRPG, so what else can I expect from it? The gameplay is still like the old Tales games, fun, addicting, fast-paced, skillful, etc. I have yet to try the Skills system, it looks a bit like Final Fantasy IX's, so that's a good thing. So far, so good!
With all that said, I'd like to play some 4-player co-op in Castle Crashers sometime with you guys! It could be fun, but I don't have a headphone so I won't be able to chat though...
