Metaphor will beat mainline SMT and it won't even be close. With a Switch 2 version added, 5 million sales lifetime could be the floor.

But yes, SMT6 might change this if they increase the budget (especially marketing) and scope.

I don't think its certain that Atlus will port their games to Switch 2. They just announced Persona 4 on an Xbox showcase with no Switch 2 support. Atlus mostly make Shin Megami Tensei games for Nintendo platforms and the rest is PS, Xbox and PC only, for the most part.

It's clear they're slowly moving towards multiplatform like the rest of the industry.

Their games are computationally expensive and inefficient relative to their graphics level, which might have made some of them a headache to port to weak systems like the Switch. The Switch 2 should get a lot of 3rd party support starting from year 2.

Atlus's current approach is timed exclusivity/partial-multiplatform (Nintendo + PC, or Playstation/PC + Xbox before late porting), and they'll likely stick to this as long as platform holders pay them. I don't see them permanently skipping anything except maybe Xbox in the future.

Most of Atlus's games did come to the Switch. Raidou Remastered just launched on all platforms including Switch 2. I think Nintendo is just holding off on announcing the Switch 2 version. They've done this before. Sega/Atlus would be dumb to exclude Switch/Switch 2 considering most of their games sold best on the platform.
