Might as well post here while it's still 2025.

I've played so few games in recent years, but I'm trying to play through more of this year because some amazing stuff came out. I started kinda late though, in October, but since then I have played and finished Silksong, and am currently playing through Hades II and Expedition 33.

All three of those are among the best games I've ever played so obviously they're getting my vote.

Hoping Metroid Prime 4 can get added to that but I'm not sure I believe in that at this point, and maybe if and when I ever get around to Death Stranding, that seems pretty cool. And I need to play Time Stranger too, looks like the best Digimon game yet.

My Top 3 for 2025:

1. Ghost of Yotei (PS5). Its fantastic. 10/10 for me and one of the best games of all time. And the love to details/world, oh my god. Love it so much.

2. Death Stranding 2 (PS5). Top ideas, some epic moments and impressive graphic.

3. Digimon Story Time Stranger (PS5). Best Digimon-Game in the last 15 years.

For me I would say the following games are my GOTY candidates

-Persona 5 Royal

also, just to be clear, Kirby Air Riders and MKWorld are my two GotY candidates. I also have high hopes for MP4B… but we’ll still need to wait on that.

I'm torn between Hollow Knight Silksong and Hades II.

This is as surprising to me as anyone, but...

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (NS2)
The sub-series finally got over the hump with this installment, thanks to a deeper, more tactical move set. That, combined with slick graphics, smooth performance, dozens of hours of content, some very fun aerial battles, and a diverse roster of combatants, help this one enter the GOTY conversation

Finally had time to get started on Clair Obscur, and…yeah, as anyone could have predicted, E33 has snuck its way into being a potential frontrunner for my personal GotY. Only issue is that I literally have no idea how to compare it to a game like MarioKart World (my current GotY pick).

Mario Kart World is my front-runner. It is, by far, the 2025 game I have spent the most time with.

I'm "only" 12 or so hours into it, but I wanna give a big shoutout to Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

This game has so far been a dream come true as a fan of the franchise, a huge upgrade over the previous games in every way, it looks beautiful, it sounds cool, the story premise is very interesting and I'm excited to see where they take it, though I'm not sold on the characters yet. I may be jumping the gun but this feels like it'll be in my top 3 for this year, truly a magical experience so far.
