The upcoming release of FAST Fusion got me thinking about how much I miss both F-Zero and Wipeout; two high speed anti-grav racing series that each had their own style and appeal.

Of these two, which do you think is better, and what's your argument for why?

I think it goes Sega F-Zero > Wipeout > other F-Zero games for the most part.

The awesomeness of GX/AX goes without saying.

As for the other F-Zeroes, the 2D ones never did it for me, and most of the Wipeouts are better than the terrible-looking F-Zero 64, so Wipeout wins.

SEGA F-Zero is peak. That said, I like the SNES game. Other than GX. The series never fully grabbed me. The Wipeout games I played are more fun aside from GX.  But aside from future racing. Wipeout is less comparable to F-Zero as it's closer to a Mario Kart clone.

No love for Extreme G? F Zero for me, I never really got into the Wipeout initially. But I did enjoy the Wipeout remaster on the PS4, especially in vr.

Wipeout, because of the music and style. Wipeout 2097 will never be surpassed.

Wipeout for the music and the fact that you got attack items.

F-Zero ten times over and to the billionth power.

While I wouldn't quite put Extreme G on the same level as these two, I did enjoy 1 and 2 on N64 back in the day.

F-Zero/Wipeout are just more the "Big Two" of the genre in my mind, the Coke/Pepsi if you will.

In my opinion, the best futuristic race that has ever been released (and I play to this day) is SCORCHER by Zyrinx/Scavenger (1996). The graphics still hold up well today, and it's a challenging, highly replayable, compact game.

Wipeout, no question. Not bias at all (by the fact I own all of them bar 2048).

Soundtrack is amazing, gameplay amazing, and original Wipeout was a huge leap in gaming.
