Forums - Sony - Killzone or Horizon, which is the better series and why

Which is the better series?

Killzone 13 38.24%

Horizon 21 61.76%

Total:34

Killzone 2 MP was great but everything else in the franchise sucks.

That said, it’s still better than Horizon, which is just a super safe focus group tested FarCry clone. I say that as someone who loves Ubiclones and has the plat in both games. They are the definition of meh.

I only play single player and while Kill Zone has great single player campaigns, Horizon simply has a lot more content. Plus I prefer open world RPG lite over corridor shooters.

Kill Zone was very pretty though, KillZone SF did feel like a next gen game at the time.

The lighting and Madder sound processing were amazing:

Yeah Killzone has always been a technical showpiece; Killzone 2 and 3 still look phenomenal to this day despite running on hardware from 2006.

Mercenery was also hands down the best looking game on Vita

Instead of making CotM, they should have ported Killzone series to PSVR2.

CotM isn't making Horizon fans happy, is no good for onboarding (made my wife ill right after the boat ride) and is called a mediocre climbing simulator. It does look pretty and I still enjoyed my play through but haven't found the desire to revisit. I have gone back to both HZD and HFW,

Playing through the Killzone campaigns would be awesome in VR and Killzone 3 already had motion controls for the Move. It fits much better since it's already made for first person and shooters have the popularity in VR.

Not a fan of VR myself, but I would love to see a new modern Killzone game made in the style of 2/3, it could look mind blowing with today's tech.

I suspect the reason we haven't seen ports/remasters of Killzone to PS4/5/PSVR is cos of all the whacky Cell processor spaghetti code going on in them, that shit is probably a nightmare to translate to modern devices.

Horizon for me, hands down.

I only played Shadowfall and I almost dropped it but it got really good in chapter 3 I think it was and I finished it from there. Horizon is just a way better series.
